August 25th is when you’ll see us next. Co-Ordinator Luyanda Peter has called us in to curate the sound at an exhibition held by Anelisa Mangcu and Yang Zhao in support of Women’s Month, which is a great opportunity for all involved to raise awareness, give back to charity and appreciate art, music and people while paying homage all at once, which makes us feel a lot more philanthropic about our Friday nights about town…
So the exhibit has a strictly female theme, and submissions from the likes of Max Mogale, Mpumelelo Macu, Danielle Clough and other such talented phenoms have offered to submit their selected artworks, from which a chosen few will exhibit on the day. Look — They even have a blog: http://womensmonth.tumblr.com/ on which all the submissions will be shown. Speaking of which, submissions are still open, so don’t be shy, contact Anelisa or Yang at firstname.lastname@example.org if you feel your work deserves a place in this exhibit. They do however, close on the 17th, so don’t sleep on this wonderful opportunity!

Also on the bill is guest speaker Janine Jellars, Editor of Seventeen Magazine, who will share her thoughts on empowering young women. Doors open at 18:30, and donations for young women’s charity Ons Plek, will be taken upon arrival. Our featured dj, Olwetu will also aid us in our conquest for providing a great ambiance that speaks to the theme.
This one is not to be missed!
